Help lead the next chapter of dialysis care in Southern

There's a lot happening in dialysis across Southern. Our service is growing, our model of care is evolving, and we have two exciting opportunities for Associate Charge Nurse Managers to join our Dunedin team

This isn't your standard ACNM role

Dunedin is the main hub for a dialysis service spanning a large geographical area. You'll work alongside the Charge Nurse Manager, with real autonomy and the opportunity to influence how our service develops.

This is hands-on clinical and operational leadership. You'll balance patient flow, acuity, staffing and capacity, support your team when things get challenging and make sure clinical safety remains at the centre of decisions.

We're looking for leaders who can see the bigger picture, anticipate pressure points and pivot when things don't go to plan.

About the Role

• Coordinate patient flow across in-centre dialysis, training and acute care.
• Balance changing acuity, capacity and staffing while protecting clinical safety.
• Manage daily staffing, unplanned leave and roster pressures alongside the CNM.
• Provide visible, approachable clinical leadership and support staff through complex situations.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, coordinated care.
• Coach and develop your team, supporting performance, accountability and growth.
• Drive improvement, challenge how we've always done things and help shape the future of the service.
• Our dialysis service operates Monday to Saturday, 0700–1930, with ACNM shifts rostered across Monday to Saturday between 0830–1700. Strong, visible leadership across our operating week is an important part of supporting both our patients and our team.

No dialysis experience? Don't let that stop you.

Dialysis experience would be great, but it isn't essential. If you're an experienced nurse and strong clinical leader with the right attitude, skills and drive, we can teach you dialysis.

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the DSN Pay Scale Grade 2, between $118,941 and $130,866 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
