Investment Analyst - Te Waipounamu - Hauora Māori Service

About the Role
The Investment Analyst is an advisory role responsible for delivering financial and analytical support to the Regional Group Manager, Funding & Planning, to implement investment strategies that drive optimal healthcare outcomes. The role also works in close collaboration with the Hauora Māori Investment & Operational Policy team to ensure regional delivery aligns with national guidance and standards.

As the Hauora Māori Service of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) our core role is to ensure New Zealanders have better and more timely access to health care. The devolution of resources and decision making to the regions ensures those closest to service users and whānau are involved in decisions on how healthcare is delivered. We are committed to ensuring our operating model is responsive to the needs of Māori.
About you
You bring demonstrated capability in financial and investment analysis, including expertise in financial modelling, data interpretation, and audit processes. You hold a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in health investment, along with experience working within kaupapa Māori frameworks. Your familiarity with strategic planning and policy development in a health context, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with national teams such as the Hauora Māori Investment & Operational Policy team, further enhances your suitability for this role.
You will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and Chartered Accountant status (CAANZ or equivalent)
- Experience in finance or public policy field with at least 5-7 years of experience in a similar role within a large organisation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft key governance documents and materials
- Proven analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with experience in the health sector considered an advantage
