About the Role
The National Programme Coordinator and Personal Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the delivery and coordination of Health New Zealand's national health and safety programmes. Reporting to the GM, Health and Safety, this position provides high-quality administrative and programme support to ensure the smooth operation of national initiatives aligned with Health NZ's strategic and operational goals.
This role is responsible for coordinating meetings, workshops, and events; maintaining programme documentation and registers; supporting internal communications; and tracking milestones and deliverables to ensure progress against national priorities. It also provides dedicated personal assistant support to the GM, including diary and inbox management, stakeholder liaison, and preparation of reports and presentations.
Operating across a complex and dynamic environment, the Coordinator ensures consistency, visibility, and alignment of health and safety activities nationwide. The role requires strong organisational capability, discretion, and initiative, and contributes to Health NZ's commitment to equity, cultural safety, and continuous improvement in health outcomes

The Health and Safety team plays a vital role in ensuring consistent, high-quality service across all district sites, shifts, and professional groups. Working remotely, team members collaborate to deliver effective and efficient health and safety support tailored to the unique needs of each area. This is a dynamic, purpose-driven team who are committed to maintaining safe environments and supporting frontline services nationally.
About you
You'll have at least five years' experience in administration, event management, or customer support, ideally within complex or project-based environments. You're highly organised, detail-focused, and confident managing multiple priorities, with strong communication skills and approachable nature help you build effective relationships across teams.
Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working independently or collaboratively, you bring a working knowledge of project management practices and are proficient in Microsoft Office tools. You also understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Pae Ora, and are committed to equity and cross-cultural awareness in your work.
