About the Role
Reporting to the relevant District Health and Safety Delivery Manager, this role works under the guidance of Health and Safety Business Partners and Senior Advisors to ensure compliance with Health NZ expectations, legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
This Advisor position comes with a defined regional responsibility, allowing the Health and Safety Advisor to support day-to-day operations within a designated district.
About the Team/Service/ Location
We have multiple roles available across all Health NZ locations.
The Health and Safety team plays a vital role in ensuring consistent, high-quality service across all district sites, shifts, and professional groups. The Health and Safety team works within HealthNZ sites. Team members collaborate to deliver effective and efficient health and safety support tailored to the unique needs of each area. This is a dynamic, purpose-driven team who are committed to maintaining safe environments and supporting frontline services across the district
About you
You have up to five years' experience in health and safety delivery, with a solid understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and programmes such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, ACC AEP, and ISO45001. You're confident contributing to strategic initiatives, supporting incident investigations, and managing health and safety risks at a local level.
You're adaptable, resilient, and thrive in complex environments. With strong communication and relationship-building skills, you work effectively across diverse settings. You bring a collaborative mindset, a commitment to continuous improvement, and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Pae Ora principles, helping to shape a culture of care and excellence.
